This handsome, 5-year-old boy you see above leading Ruka feared everything when he first arrived at the ranch: geese flying, insects buzzing, fish jumping out of the pond.

And, especially the horses. He wouldn’t go near them.

Ashton had been rescued from dreadful circumstances when he was eight months old, rarely experiencing human touch. Although he was adopted into a loving home, the abuse severely damaged his sense of safety and security. Fear permeated every part of his life.

That was six months ago.  But because of your generous gifts,  Ashton now confidently leads and rides the horses and even kissed a fish!
