A Note From Kim.

I wish you could sit under the thick canopy of trees at 8:00 a.m. every morning during summer camp at Hope Reins.

From one of our well-worn Adirondack chairs, your heart would burst with pride as you watch the kids you support file through the gate wearing wide smiles and chattering excitedly as they greet camp staff.

The kids love this special place called Hope Reins—because of you.

Your generosity put them here.  And you’ve not only given them a safe sanctuary where their emotional wounds can be carefully healed, but also a beautiful hiatus like summer camp where the joy of play and imagination abound.

Thank you.

Your big-heartedness also gave us four new horses who are thriving and preparing to tackle their most important jobs yet—befriending our hurting kids.  After a tough year of losing some of our original herd, we are now 18 horses strong!  Thank you for giving us a resounding, “I do,” during The Heroes for Hope Bridle Shower.

Before I close, I’ve got some bittersweet news to share with you.  After almost six years as our beloved Ranch Manager, Brandon Wert will be leaving his post in September and heading west to Arizona with his family to embark on a new adventure.

Brandon, his wife, Jodi, and dog, Billie.

Brandon is a visionary, builder and connector.  Although it’s difficult to quantify Brandon’s impact on the ranch, let me share just a little of what he’s built at Hope Reins:  One creek crossing, 4 dry lots, 1,556 feet of block wall, an additional 6 acres of pasture, and most importantly, a ranch team of 150 loyal volunteers who would walk through fire for the man!

We wish Brandon and his family the very best in their new chapter of life, but we are going to miss him terribly!

Please help us by sharing the Ranch Manager job description with your friends, colleagues, and anyone else you think might be a good fit for the role.   Also, we’ve not filled our Development Director position yet. So please take a look and share that one as well—it would be tremendously helpful!

I am so grateful to you for your support!  Have a wonderful last week of July!

In Hope,
