Every Hope Reins horse is a hero.

I wish you could see it. The first moment when a child and a horse connect is always a miracle. That’s why every Hope Reins horse is a hero.

Sammy, for example. He’s big and strong. Also kind and gentle. Yet if Sammy feels threatened, he’ll let you know it. He’s been through a lot. He refuses to be pushed around. For these reasons and more, Sammy is so ready and more than able to help a child in crisis.

A child like Andrew…

After you watch the above video from Andrew’s mom: Will you give a generous gift that will DOUBLE with matching funds? Please hurry and donate today before the match runs out!

Too many children feel hopeless in their trauma right now. They don’t know there can be hope and healing for them. But they will, with your help.

Only 11 years old, Andrew has already seen too much. As a small boy, he was neglected and abused while at daycare. Visiting his father out of state, Andrew felt pressured to eat certain foods and exercise every day. It’s no wonder the boy developed an eating disorder. At school, Andrew became the target of bullies. He lost his confidence and withdrew into himself and his anger.

“People hurt too much,” Andrew decided.

He acted tough and lashed out to keep others away. Nobody was going to push him around anymore. But Andrew didn’t know: Hope starts with a horse.

The day Andrew arrived at the Hope Reins ranch, he felt anxious. When he was introduced to Sammy, he kept turning his back. The horse only drew closer as if asking for a scratch or a pet. “Do you see how Sammy’s feeling?” asked Jenna, Andrew’s mentor. “I think he’s lonely. He wants a little love. He trusts you. He’s choosing you.” Then Jenna told Andrew about Sammy’s life before Hope Reins. About how Sammy was rescued from a kill pen. About how the horse could become aggressive to protect himself. About how being strong and confident goes together with being gentle and kind.

Andrew looked deep into Sammy’s eyes. He softened. His posture shifted. His expression did too.

This was the moment. The moment we wait for.

It’s always a miracle.

Watch Andrew’s mom above talking about how Sammy has helped her son heal.

A hurting child comes to Hope Reins without hope … and their pain and potential are mirrored back to them by a horse they can trust. Everything hinges on such a God moment.

Please seize the opportunity to donate today and DOUBLE your impact for the horses who are there for the kids.

Every week, Sammy helps many children who’ve experienced trauma. So do each of the 16 other horses at Hope Reins. Kids who can’t trust a single person learn to trust again because they can trust the horses.

Training, feeding, and keeping a herd this size healthy requires tremendous care year‑round. And your generosity can make sure a horse like Sammy is ready for the day a hurting child like Andrew arrives at the ranch.

Thank you for being the kind of person who says, “I’ll be there for you!” for the kids in crisis and the horses who lead the way out.

P.S. If you give right away, your donation will be DOUBLED to care for the horses at Hope Reins. Please give today while it’s on your heart.
