A quiet moment

I am always grateful to see the healing that happens week after week at the ranch with your support.

One of the heartbreaking realities for kids who have experienced trauma is that life often feels chaotic, loud, and completely out of control.

When that’s the world a child lives in, it can be very hard to feel safe.

But during the first week of sessions, I see children begin to discover something: Hope Reins is a place of safety.

One young girl recently shared that she hoped for a horse who would be steady, calm, and safe. Her life right now feels anything but those three things. Because she was nervous around large horses, her mentor wisely began by introducing her to our miniature horses.

Then they took the next brave step—meeting a horse standing 15.1 hands tall.

His name is Hero.

Before coming to Hope Reins, Hero helped train rescue teams to care for horses in danger. And true to his name, he is calm, steady, and confident.

When she walked up to him, Hero didn’t move. He simply lowered his head and stood quietly beside her.

Then she began brushing him.

For nearly thirty minutes, she brushed while talking softly to her mentor, and Hero stood patiently, munching hay and listening. In the quiet of that moment, a little bit of peace entered a life that has felt anything but peaceful.

And it’s all possible because of you.

Your generosity provides this refuge at Hope Reins. And a refuge of safety is where healing begins.

Thank you for helping bring hope and healing to kids who need it most. I am so grateful for you.

And because this kind of healing happens week after week at the ranch, some friends choose to support the work monthly through our Stable Stewards community.

Their steady generosity allows Hope Reins to plan ahead, grow wisely, and serve even more children in crisis. With monthly gifts ranging from $10 to $1,000, every gift makes a difference.

If you’re interested in making that kind of ongoing impact, please consider joining Stable Stewards, our community of monthly supporters.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend—and whatever role you play at Hope Reins, thank you!
