You Helped Change Nicholas’ Story
For the past 15 years, you have helped write stories of hope and healing at the ranch—and they still give me goosebumps. Nicholas was a client at Hope Reins years ago. And today, I want to show you the lasting impact your support makes.
In 2016, Nicholas’ world shattered. His mom, dad, and grandmother were murdered by a neighbor.
“I was very numb and broken,” he recalls. Already a shy 10-year-old, Nicholas shut down. But God wasn’t done with his story.
Through church, Nicholas met Pam, who brought him to Hope Reins. These became his three lifelines: Jesus, Pam, and Hope Reins.
With all he had endured, opening up was hard. That made his horse, Deetz, the perfect partner. “Since horses can’t talk, you communicate in a different language—through emotion and touch.” As Nicholas grew in his ability to lead Deetz, his confidence grew, too.
Looking back, Nicholas says, “When you’re leading a horse, it begins with challenge but ends with growth. That’s how I see life too—hard at first, but God helps you persevere.”
Today, Nicholas is thriving. He has been legally adopted, graduated high school, and is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in Christian studies.
Because of your generosity, Nicholas found safety, connection, and purpose—and today, he’s living with joy and hope. Thank you for standing with us for 15 years to make stories like his possible.
