She’s Singing Again Because of You.

Many of you know my story.  I grew up in a home with an alcoholic father and never knew emotional safety.

I feel lucky, though, in many ways.  Because even though fear and uncertainty permeated my life as a child, I was never physically abused.

The story is different for nine-year-old Sarah.  And that’s why I’m so grateful to you for helping her heal at Hope Reins over the last year.

She’s endured not only her own physical and verbal abuse at the hands of her father, but Sarah also witnessed, time and again, her older sister’s abuse as well.

This unpredictable violence at home left Sarah excessively withdrawn, fearful, and anxious about doing anything wrong.

But because of your generous gifts, Sarah has been working alongside her trusted mentor, Lori, and her favorite horse, Shiloh, to reclaim her voice.  She’s choosing to not be afraid anymore.

And, Sarah’s mom, Chloe, says healing for her daughter has been revealed through small, but mighty steps. “I hear her singing again. She’ll be doing schoolwork, or just riding in the car with me,” she says. “And, she’s singing like she used to.”

Thank you for facilitating this beautiful connection between Sarah and Shiloh.

You’ve given her a precious gift: A safe place where she can heal from the hurt.

Have a great weekend!
