Finding Light After Loss: Tamryn’s Story

Hope Reins has been a refuge of true hope and real healing for 15 years. One of the many kids whose lives were changed here is Tamryn.

When Tamryn lost her beloved grandmother, her world grew impossibly dark. Even with therapy and medication, she felt stuck in grief and loneliness—until she came to Hope Reins.

At first, her defenses were high. But paired with her mentor Anna and horses Kody and Jesse, something shifted. Tamryn discovered kindness, patience, and connection. Slowly, she began to heal.

Now in her twenties, Tamryn says, “In learning to lead and care for Kody and Jesse, I learned I’m worthy of the same compassion.” Today she has studied abroad, walked the Way of Saint James, and graduated Summa Cum Laude.

This year, the University of Kentucky validated what Tamryn’s story so beautifully illustrates—healing at Hope Reins is real, lasting, and life-changing.

This is the healing you make possible. Your support transforms lives—not just for a season, but for a lifetime.
