Escape Room…with a Horse?!

This summer at camp, the kids at Hope Reins have tackled a special challenge: help a horse escape through a series of puzzle-filled rooms—symbolizing the Israelite spies escaping through the walls of Jericho.

Working together, they’ve solved clues, cracked codes, and “rescued” their four-legged friends.

But this wasn’t just a fun game.

This activity was inspired by Rahab, a woman in the Bible who risked her life to protect the Israelite spies from the King of Jericho. She had faith to trust God’s plan, and the courage to help others find freedom.

And that’s exactly what our kids portrayed: being like Rahab and courageously stepping in to help someone in need, choosing faith over fear, and providing a way to escape.

Even more importantly, the kids were asked to follow Jesus’ example and help rescue someone, help bring someone out of captivity, and lead them into freedom. Just like Jesus is doing for them – leading them into freedom, healing, and hope!

Because trauma often feels like a trap—a time of helplessness with no way out and no one who can help. But at Hope Reins, kids are discovering a new story. A story where healing begins with a rescued horse, a caring mentor, and a Savior who is always near.

Thank you for making moments like this possible.

Because of you, these kids are playing, learning, and healing this summer. You’re helping them experience hope—and the truth that no one is ever too far for God to reach.
