Do You Like Fresh-Squeezed Lemonade?
The proverbial phrase “when life gives you lemons, make lemonade” holds true in much of what we do at the ranch because of your support. You’ve blessed Hope Reins and our kids by helping transform pain and hopelessness into healing and hope. Because of donors like you, the ranch is a safe refuge where the story of rescue takes center stage as the heart of a hurting child and a horse connect.
We wanted to tell you about an opportunity to “turn lemons into lemonade” before summer’s end.
Did you know we align with dozens of nonprofits that also serve kids in crisis? Our partners include the Salvation Army, Durham Rescue Mission and YMCA Community Hope, to name just a few. The kids come to the ranch for Group Sessions to experience hope outside their adverse circumstances at home.
Susana with Twinkle, who was rescued from a junkyard.
Zak had not left his mom’s side since his dad died.
Last month, Susana visited Hope Reins through our local partner, Refugee Hope. She hiked, fished, learned horsemanship and ate S’mores – things she’d never done before. But the highlight was befriending our micro-miniature horse, Twinkle, while she soaked her tiny hooves in dressings due to painful abscesses.
We also served Zak, from The Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), supporting children of fallen soldiers. During his visit, his mom watched in tears as the bereaved boy hugged Sparrow, our gentle, copper-colored horse.
Hope Reins’ vision is one of restoration: Providing every child or teen in crisis with the true hope and real healing of Jesus. A lofty goal, yes. But we believe one worth striving for!
Please help us squeeze as many kids as possible into our year-end Group Sessions! The goal is to serve 105 kids this year before November 22, but we need your help!
Remember, over 90% Hope Reins’ donations come from individual donors like you. Your support matters to kids like Susana and Zak.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
