Behind-the-Scenes Saturday.
You know how much I love to share stories about the kids with you.
But sometimes, it’s just observing a simple day at the ranch that tugs on my soul. And, this past Saturday was one of those days.
Because your gifts not only fuel healing at Hope Reins; they provide a sanctuary of connectedness for hundreds of our volunteers, mentors, and even visitors who want a glimpse of what God has built.
Every weekend, our intrepid team of Ranch Hands leads chores and projects despite wind, rain, and freezing temperatures. They crave the camaraderie and purposeful work (along with a random donut or biscuit!) that serve to enhance 38 acres of beauty.
Equine teams feed, water, and tend to the herd of 18 not only because they see how our horses help victims of trauma heal, but they’ve also discovered the joy that comes from caring for these magnificent creatures.
And I must also brag about our mentors. They are students, teachers, retirees and just some of the finest human beings around. Because not only would they walk through fire for the kids they help, but they never, ever stop learning.
Trodding through the ranch gates on Saturday mornings, still sleepy from late nights of studying or grading papers, they pick up the mantle of becoming the best versions of a trauma-informed mentors by attending valuable trainings and workshops.
Thank you for supporting these precious groups of people. They’re here for the kids, the horses, and Jesus. Just like you!
Have a great week ahead!
